Reverse osmosis membranes are the most expensive consumable in a desalination plant — and solids are their enemy. Harmsco desalination plant pre-treatment filters remove suspended solids, silt and biological particulates from seawater and brackish feed ahead of cartridge polishing and RO trains, extending membrane life and holding differential pressure in check. The patented Hurricane® up-flow design spins dense solids out by cyclonic action before the cartridge, cutting element consumption in high-solids intakes.
Seawater-Ready Construction
Electropolished 316/316L stainless steel housings resist chloride attack, with epoxy-coated carbon steel options for budget-driven trains. Housings are rated to 150 PSI working pressure and built to ASME standards, from single-round polishing units to 2,400 GPM pre-treatment batteries.
