Food Grade Water Filtration Setup

In food and beverage, water is an ingredient — and your filtration train is part of the recipe. A food grade water filtration setup has to satisfy auditors, protect product quality and run through sanitization without flinching.

Certification First

Specify NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61 listed components through the wetted path. Harmsco offers the industry’s largest selection of NSF-certified cartridges in stainless housings your QA team can document in one line.

Stainless, Cleanable, Hot-Water Tolerant

304L and 316L stainless housings handle caustic wash-downs and hot water sanitization; high-temperature cartridges survive sanitization cycles up to 250°F. Swing-bolt closures make element changes fast enough to fit inside a production changeover.

A Typical F&B Train

  • Cyclonic separation — Hurricane® up-flow housing drops grit from well or municipal supply
  • 5 micron depth stage — silt and fine particulate
  • Activated carbon — Harmsco carbon cartridges reduce chlorine, taste and odor ahead of product water
  • 1 micron absolute polish — final clarity ahead of UV or fillers

Consistency Is the Product

Batch-to-batch water consistency is what staged, certified filtration actually buys you — in brewing, bottling, dairy, sauces and everything between. It’s also what auditors want to see documented.
